The Mt. Vernon Business Women’s Club finished up their year with some exciting accomplishments. Mt. Vernon was proud to have three members attend the State Convention in Champaign, Illinois, May 5-7th. Crystal Rios was awarded the Speak-Off winner with her speech on “Why Women Should be Involved in Politics”. The judges had very nice remarks regarding Crystal and her presentation. Jo Beth was also the keynote speaker in the Post-Convention Meeting on Sunday morning. Mt. On Saturday night, Carol was sworn in as President-Elect for the Illinois Federation for the year 2017-18. Amanda Burk has assumed the role of Networking Chair for that year. What fun we had and what a busy year we have ahead.
